Verbs are the heart of every English sentence. Action verbs show what the subject does, while linking verbs connect the subject to a subject complement (state of being).

Action verbs: run, write, build. Linking verbs: be (is/am/are/was/were), seem, become, feel, appear, taste, smell.
Linking Verb-এর পর Adjective বা Noun Complement বসে (Adverb নয়)।
Linking verbs take adjectives as complements, not adverbs.
Linking verb-এর পরে Adverb নয়, বরং Adjective বসে।
শেফ ঝাল রাতের খাবার রান্না করেছিলেন।
রাতারাতি আবহাওয়া ঠান্ডা হয়ে গেল।
I feel badly about the delay.
I feel bad about the delay.
পার্থক্য:'Feel' is a linking verb of sensation, so it takes the adjective 'bad'.
'Feel' একটি Linking verb, তাই এরপরে Adjective 'bad' বসবে ('badly' নয়)।
Smell, taste, sound ইত্যাদির পর Adverb বসানো।
কেন এই ভুল হয়: These verbs function as linking verbs describing the subject's condition. (এসব ক্রিয়া সাবজেক্টের অবস্থা নির্দেশক Linking Verb হিসেবে কাজ করে।)
সঠিক প্রয়োগ: The music sounds great.
