সাধারণ ও নির্দিষ্ট নামবাচক বিশেষ্য
Nouns are naming words. They are fundamentally split into common nouns (general class of things) and proper nouns (specific entities with mandatory capital letters).
Proper nouns always begin with a capital letter regardless of where they appear in a sentence, whereas common nouns are capitalized only at sentence start.
Proper Noun বাক্যের যেখানেই বসুক না কেন, প্রথম অক্ষরটি বড় হাতের (Capital) হবে। অন্যদিকে Common Noun শুধুমাত্র বাক্যের শুরুতে ক্যাপিটাল হয়।
Always capitalize proper names of people, cities, countries, days, and months.
মানুষ, শহর, দেশ, দিন এবং মাসের নামের প্রথম অক্ষর সর্বদা ক্যাপিটাল হয়।
Common nouns do not use capital letters unless they begin a sentence.
বাক্যের শুরুতে না থাকলে Common Noun-এ ক্যাপিটাল লেটার হয় না।
রাকিব গত গ্রীষ্মে লন্ডনে ভ্রমণ করেছিল।
শিক্ষক শান্ত শ্রেণিকক্ষে প্রবেশ করলেন।
My brother lives in paris.
My brother lives in Paris.
পার্থক্য:'Paris' is a proper noun (city name) and must be capitalized.
'Paris' একটি নির্দিষ্ট শহরের নাম (Proper Noun), তাই প্রথম অক্ষর 'P' বড় হাতের হতে হবে।
We will meet on tuesday.
We will meet on Tuesday.
পার্থক্য:Days of the week are proper nouns and require capitalization.
সপ্তাহের দিনের নাম Proper Noun, তাই 'Tuesday' ক্যাপিটালাইজড হবে।
সাধারণ ঋতু বা বিষয়ের নাম অযথা ক্যাপিটাল করা (যেমন 'Spring' লেখা)।
কেন এই ভুল হয়: Seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter) are common nouns and should remain lowercase. (ঋতুর নামগুলো Common Noun, তাই বাক্যের মাঝে এগুলো ছোট হাতের অক্ষরে লেখা উচিত (ব্যতিক্রম: ভাষার নাম যেমন English)।)
সঠিক প্রয়োগ: I study English and math in spring.
